For the Director and his team, the desire to live the 2024 Olympic Games was the motive to do this project outside the communication agency’s usual scope. This idea of directing a documentary was born from the networking inside the Bossclub PME, an entrepreneurs club based in Issy-Les-Moulineaux, the city where the fencing club of Maxime is located.

When we met Maxime, we decided to support him and produce a documentary on  his path to the bronze medal at the Grand Palais during the Paris 2024 Olympics. His determination to believe in his dreams and make them come true, and to live out ‘one for all, all for one’ with his teammates, completely captivated us.

Beyond performance

For what better way to understand a top-level athlete than by following him in his daily life, trying to capture his emotions and the path he take to achieve his dreams. A journey full of twists and turns between doubt, injury, setbacks, and victories?  What finer portrait of Maxime could we do than the one of every step he takes toward medals, but also toward finding himself?

The Director

David Paget is a director and head of the communication agency Quatrevingtdouze. An entrepreneur with a passion for imagery, he has been developing projects of communication, photography, and audiovisual production for several years. In 2024, he directed the documentary Maxime Pauty – À la croisée des rêves, focusing on the French fencer’s journey as he prepared for the Paris Olympic Games.

Directing this documentary also reflects Quatrevingtdouze’s commitment to putting its skills and expertise at the service of meaningful projects. By choosing to support Maxime over the long term, the agency wanted to tell much more than a story of athletic performance: a human adventure shaped by hard work, perseverance, doubt, and pushing self-limits. This demonstrates how a communication agency can also stand alongside those who carry a project, a dream, or an ambition, and help bring their story to life.
